About us

We are Mark and Charlotte, the founders of pop-up restaurant PAARL. During our travels through South Africa, we discovered the African family hospitality of eating and sharing together.

The special combinations of spices, herbs and influences along with the deep flavors and special traditions of boerekos inspired us to bring this concept to the Netherlands.

From dream to reality

We dreamed of a place where people feel at home - where food is about being together and enjoying ourselves. With our chef, we developed a 3-course shared dining menu that stays true to South African traditions. From large platters full of delicious dishes to live preparations at the table - at PAARL everything is about experience. A wonderful evening of extended dining.
